About the Role Johnson Welded Products is seeking a hands-on Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and strengthen our safety and environmental programs. What You Bring • 5 years of progressive experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management within a manufacturing or industrial environment. • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations. • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, engage teams, and drive accountability. • Ability to work with all level of employees across the organization. • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills. • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field preferred. • Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or REM a plus. • Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental reporting highly valued. | The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) located in Cleveland, Ohio, is searching for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our Safety Department and consult with all levels of the organization to support and maintain the positive, mature safety culture at the Authority. This position requires flexibility to work non-traditional hours while participating in an on-call rotation to respond to critical incidents during non-business hours/weekends. Anticipate approximately 8-9 weeks on-call per year. Call-out pay is available. Duties · Coordinates all aspects of environmental health and safety for Bus, Rail, Paratransit and Non-Revenue operations, under direction of Manager of Safety. · Assists in coordination of all environmental work including managing underground storage tank requirements, hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste contracts, waste minimization plans, spill prevention, and regulatory requirements. Initiates, facilitates, and participates in meetings with various GCRTA departments as well as outside agencies regarding safety matters. · Assist State Safety Oversight Agency with FTA mandated incident response, auditing, Risk Based Inspections, policies and procedures for inspection access, and data collection. · Analyzes accident and injury data to develop recommendations for improvement. · Serves as an advisor to District Safety Committees and supports Executive Safety Committee meetings with safety information updates; assists in resolving hazards, and follow-up on safety suggestions. · Investigates and/or assists in the investigation of major Bus, Rail, and other vehicle accidents. · Conducts root cause analysis and provides recommendations for all incidents. · Follows-up on all recommendations to completion. The agency estimated value based on the above salary range from $5,713 to $5970 annually. Employees do not pay federal social security tax from income; all contributions go directly towards PERS. • Deferred Compensation Plans– Employees may contribute to tax-deferred supplemental retirement accounts. • Tuition Assistance Program – CCPH offers tuition assistance to all employees after one year of service, up to 90% reimbursement. • Student Loan Forgiveness- Public service employees may be eligible for student loan forgiveness through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. • Sick Leave Rewards- Employees with low sick leave usage traditionally receive an annual sick leave bonus of up to $800. They are also eligible for quarterly drawings, which could earn up to an additional $240 per year. • Fleet Vehicle – CCPH provides fleet vehicles to inspection staff and covers all fuel and maintenance. Fleet vehicles are not take-home vehicles. • Health Insurance – Employees may choose coverage from single to full family benefits based on eligibility. Depending on the selection, the agency pays 81% - 87% of coverage. The value of health insurance ranges from $8,797 to $26,291 annually. In addition, employees selecting high deductible plans can receive $600 – $1,200 per year for a health savings account. • Dental Insurance – Optional for employees to pick up, for $13.78 – $49.15 per pay period. • Vision Insurance – Optional for employees to pick up, at $2.80 – $8.07 per pay period. • Life Insurance – Agency provides $25,000 in life insurance, with no charge to employees. • Supplemental Life Insurance – Employees may purchase up to $250,000 for employees, $100,000 for spouses, and $20,000 for children. • Accident and Critical Illness Insurance – Coverage is available to be picked up by the employee. • Long-term Disability – Agency picks up the first five years until the employee becomes vested in PERS. Conducts inspections and investigations in response to complaints and may recommend solutions to problems; additionally, may make recommendations for deficiency corrections and follows up to assure that corrections are made. 6. Generates permits and licensures for facilities, operators, and customers. 7. Reviews blueprints and construction plans to ensure compliance with established public health codes and laws; visits sites to evaluate equipment inventories and location as needed. 8. Coordinates with other agencies, public officials, and organizations to help improve public health and when completing inspections and audits. 9. Collects and/or prepares samples, such as water samples, rabies samples, lead dust samples, etc. for laboratory analysis. 10. Prepares legal correspondence to responsible parties, files affidavits for court action as required, and may appear in court to present evidence and testimony in the prosecution of violators. 11. Maintains appropriate licensures for specific position, including but not limited to Registered Environmental Health Specialist, Ohio Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicator license, Ohio, etc. 12. Maintains proficiency with equipment, technology and systems to complete inspections and reporting. 13. Assists and covers other environmental health programs as needed. May be reassigned programs if needed. 14. Participates in committees, meetings, and other groups as needed and/or assigned. 15. Assists with other duties in times of public health emergencies, as needed. 16. Adheres to PHAB core competencies including, but not limited to: T1: 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 2.2.5., 2.4.4, 2.4.5, 3.2.1, 3.2.2, 3.2.4, 3.2.5, 3.2.6, 4.1.4, and 4.7.2. 17. Participates in quality improvement efforts and achieving PHAB accreditation requirements.
