March 18, 2013: OEHA President Jennifer Wentzel recently testified before the Ohio House Finances Subcommittee of Health and Human Services regarding OEHA's opposition to certain provisions contained in House Bill 59. Read her entire testimony here.

 

February 14, 2013: ODH Director Dr. Wymyslo has released a letter concerning the Sequestration Transparency Act of 2012 and the ODH process to address potential budget implications. Click here to read the letter.

 

February 11, 0213:  The National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), in cooperation with U.S. EPA Indoor Environments Division,is sponsoring a 2½ day all-expenses-paid training for environmental health (EH) professionals to implement radon resistant new construction (RRNC).  Click here for more information.

 

January 22, 2013: OEHA Sewage Technical Committee Recommendations concerning the ODH Sewage Treatment Systems Rules have been posted on the the OEHA website.  View them by clicking here

 

December 27, 2012: The first draft of Ohio's new sewage treatment system rules has been released for public comment. Comments will be accepted through February 8, 2013.

 

September 28, 2012:  Governor Kasich signed the OPERS Pension Bill SB 343 on September 26, 2012.  OEHA encourages members to visit the OPERS website for detailed information.  

 

February 6, 2012: OEHA is pleased to provide its members with the finalized report on The Environmental Health Profession: A Continuing Dialogue. This report compiles the thoughts that were put together by attendees at the 2011 AEC.

 

November 7, 2011:  Recently, OEHA was invited to attend a meeting in regards to the food safety program in this State. This meeting brought stakeholders from numerous angles including AOHC, Ohio Grocer’s Association, Ohio Restaurant Association, Governor Kasich’s Office and both State agencies that oversee the programs (ODH, ODA). While it was framed as a meeting to discuss the duplication of the surveys performed by both State agencies, the implications of this meeting ultimately was whether or not the program would be best served by being housed at one agency.  More...
